Working on the design team for this
home was a great experience and holds a
special place in my heart as it marks one
of the first projects in my career. I found
great pleasure in meticulously working on
every aspect of the house and site and
seeing that each detail harmonized
seamlessly to form the complete vision.
When I imagine the project, it is always at
night under a black sky- the nighttime
experience here will be magical. Dramatic
concepts start at the driveway entry gate
area and the subtle glow on the gate
itself. Continuing down the long driveway
the oak trees canopies are illuminated,
and the driveway's curve glows from our
custom designed sidelight fixture. Arrival
to the home is signaled by a moonlight
effect on the underside of the
cantilevered roofs that are glowing from
up lights cast into the pavement.
I especially enjoyed working on the
“zig-zag path” with the orange railing that
leads down the steep hill to the riverside
creating a mysterious glow.
