East Bay Contemporary Ranch House
Demo & Rebuilt to Highest LEED Platinum Standards
Located within walking distance of the community center,
this project reimagined a well-loved property by replacing a
deteriorating 1940s ranch home with a striking, sustainable new
residence. Designed to harmonize with the natural setting, the
new two-story home takes full advantage of the sloping site, with
a three-vehicle garage discreetly tucked underground. Expansive
glass walls frame panoramic foothill views, while a new pool and
cabana create a private oasis beneath a canopy of mature trees—
all carefully preserved to maintain the character of the site.
This is one of only a handful of homes in the Bay Area to achieve
LEED Platinum certification, the highest standard of sustainable
residential design. A model of innovation, the home is designed
to provide exceptional indoor air quality, abundant natural light,
and non-toxic materials for a healthier living environment. Smart
energy and water efficiency strategies dramatically reduce utility
costs, while proactive climate resilience planning ensures the
home is built to withstand future environmental challenges.
Beyond energy efficiency, this project represents a new
standard of responsible, high-performance living—
where sustainability and luxury are seamlessly
intertwined, and every design choice contributes
to a healthier home, a stronger community, and a
net-positive impact on the environment.
