Tragedy to Opportunity 7.25 - Journal - Page 37

This project is profoundly meaningful
to me on multiple levels because of its
stunning location, the power of its
symbolism and story of renewal, the
kindness and generosity of the Janiga
family. It’s rare to find all of these
elements in one project and client.
Located in the country at the end of a
long windy road, we recognized that this
journey (or adventure!) could be rewarded
by creating a project design that could
reward the journey by extending it to
every interior room and outdoor space. A
sense of arrival that would unfold
through predesigned discoveries, strategic
views, intriguing entries, and defined
pathways that reward with awe, wonder,
and delight. Each would amplify towards
a “crescendo experience” on a ‘sky pier’
aerial pathway that terminates 30 feet
high above the river below. It will be a
phenomenal and profound experience.
My deepest sense of accomplishment has
been the enthusiasm of the Janiga Family,
our team, the builders and their sense of
pride as the design emerges.
